The Tardeo police on Tuesday recorded the statement of Raghu Ram of MTV Roadies fame in connection with the inquiry carried out in the All India Bakchod (AIB) Roast controversy. Ram was one of the participants in the controversial show, along with actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor and filmmaker Karan Johar.

Sources said Ram visited Tardeo police station on Tuesday and recorded his statement before the investigating officer. In his statement, Ram said he was given a script by the show organisers and that's what he read from and later enacted on stage.

Speaking to dna, Ram said, "I was called by the police for recording my statement and, as a law-abiding citizen, I presented myself before them. I was asked what role I had played in the show and whether I was a member of the organising committee or was invited as a guest. I told them that I was there on invitation from the organisers."

Interestingly, Ram was identified by the police on the basis of the role he played in Farah Khan's movie Tees Maar Khan. When asked about the controversy around the script that was submitted to the authorities and the one that was enacted, he said, "I don't know anything about that as I was just given the script and I read out my part from it. I can tell you that that was the one enacted on stage."

Ram, who had been a part of the team that performed AIB Roast at NSCI grounds on January 28, had allegedly shown obscene gestures and was at the receiving end from actors Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh, who made fun of him in front of the audience. In the show, Kapoor and Singh allegedly even made fun of Ram for being abusive on his show.
