The BJP may have decided not to slam its erstwhile ally Shiv Sena, but it chose to take umbrage at Uddhav Thackeray likening Modi and his ministers with Afzal Khan and his army.

Addressing a rally in Kalyan, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Thursday asked the Sena chief to shed excessive bitterness and maintain decorum. "Though we are opposite each other in politics, there is no enmity. We will have to sit in the same house after the polls. I urge Uddhav to maintain decency. We still respect Matoshree and Bal Thackerayji."

Swaraj sought to reiterate Modi's promise of not attacking the Sena and said when BJP was keeping its words, Uddhav's party should not cross the limits. Swaraj is among a battery of central leaders of BJP who are campaigning in the state after their break-up with the Sena.

"So far, decisions were taken keeping Matoshree in mind. But when Balasaheb was alive he could not keep the family together, then how will they now manage the party? What expectations can we have from them in politics," she asked.

The union minister exuded confidence in getting a majority. "Before the Lok Sabha polls, it was Mission 272. For the Vidhan Sabha elections, our aim is more than 151 seats and we are confident of victory. This is because we have come forward with developmental issues, taken up the same issues when we won the mandate at the centre. Looking at our agenda, many countries have extended a helping hand," she said.

Swaraj also attacked the Congress-NCP alliance, saying it pushed Maharashtra to No.1 position in cybercrimes. "Despite this, they audacious enough ask for votes."
