The Supreme Court on Monday rejected the Special Leave Petition filed by Shirish Kulkarni, seeking anticipatory bail, in an alleged cheating case. Kulkarni is the son of Deepak Kulkarni, founder of DSK Group, who are alleged to have duped several investors.

A division bench of Justice S Abdul Nazeer and Justice Indu Malhotra have given a week's time for him to surrender before the Pune police.

Kulkarni had approached the apex court after the Bombay High Court had refused to grant him any relief recently.

The police have arrested seven accused in the alleged scam and most of them belong to the DSK family.

The court had noted that money, which was invested by the people, was deposited in the bank account of DSK family.

Over 1,300 investor depositors have filed cases against DS Kulkarni and his wife for cheating and non-payment of their deposits by the DSK Group. There are around 8,000 depositors, who have reportedly invested around Rs 485 crore with DSK Group. However, due to a financial crisis, the investors have not received their money back from the developer. For the past several months, all these investors, largely pensioners, have been queuing up at DSK's office in Pune.
