Stunt director Tinu Verma’s step-brother on Saturday surrendered before the Amboli police after Verma had filed a case of assault. The complaint was lodged by Tinu, police said.  According to the police, the incident occurred on October 27 but the complaint was lodged on November 12.

Mahendra and Tinu live in New Veera Desai society on Jai Bhavani Mata Road in Amboli. “The society has gone for re-development. There is a small cabin used by the security guards in the society compound. Tinu wanted to demolish the cabin but Mahendra did not. The duo got into a heated argument which soon turned into a scuffle following which Mahendra assaulted his brother. Tinu later approached us and lodged a complaint saying his brother hit him on the head with an iron rod. We are verifying his claims,” said Prabhakar Medhe, senior inspector of Amboli police station.

Mahendra was out of town on a shoot. He returned to the city on Saturday and surrendered himself.

“Both the brothers have been having differences for sometime,” Medhe added.

Mahendra has been booked under sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), 504 (intentional insult with the intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.
