Study tour to Singapore for Maharashtra educationists

Around 13 educationists from various education departments across the state are heading for a study tour at Singapore on July 19. According to senior education officials from Mantralay, the tour will span over four days.

Higher authorities in the education department shortlisted 22 officials from across the state to send for the study tour. However, only 13 will be able to attend.

A senior official from the education department from Mantralay, on condition of anonymity, said, "This plan of sending the education chairman, education inspector, officials from SSC board and other education officials to Singapore, is that of our state education minister, Fauzia Khan. Her idea was to send a batch of 20 in one visit, but now they will be sent in a batch of five...They will go for the workshop from July 20 to July 24. The four day workshop will be conducted by the Singapore consulate. The education experts will go there and study the teaching methods and skills in Singapore."

State education minister Fauzia Khan remained unavailable for comment.
