As online application for admission to degree colleges entered its fifth day on Tuesday, a few city college principals voiced their concern about students facing difficulties in applying for the online MU registration. To address this, colleges have set up help desks.

Students have to fill up two forms — one for their college of choice and the other for Mumbai University.

"We get more registrations on our college online website than MU does, as students are unable to fill up the MU online form," said Ashok Wadia, Principal, Jai Hind College.

"MU has received 2,75,758 applications and has registered 1,08,731 forms so far," said Leeladhar Bansod , PRO, MU.

It is mandatory for students to fill up pre-admission forms on the official MU website, failing which they won't be entertained during admissions. A circular has been issued to colleges to create awareness on this.

Once a student registers with the MU, his/her data automatically reaches other affiliated colleges.

Some colleges believe that the online process has streamlined admissions. KC College, for instance, has made the admission procedure easier this year by conducting the process online. They also help students through their official website, in case the latter has any admission-related queries.

"Students going abroad for vacation can also seek admission by sending us an email. We also intend to share the admission results online," said Dr Hemlata Bagla, In-charge Principal, KC College.
