The students of Borivali's VIBGYOR High School recently interacted with celebrity Nandana Dev Sen, turning the event into a celebration of literature. The book-loving students of the primary section were happy to interact with Sen, who is an avid reader and an authoress. Giving insights on literature, the interactive session saw students asking intriguing questions relating to books and writing.

Sen, who is also known for her child rights activism, read excerpts from her latest book Mambi and the Forest Fire. This book is based on a jungle adventure, which revolves around Mambi, a shy little monkey. Sen elaborately discussed the characters of this book—Mambi; Koko, the crow and Tonga, the turtle, with the students who were provided with fun activities and games centred on the characters of this book.

Hina Desai, Principal, VIBGYOR High School, Borivali, said, “We are thankful to Ms. Sen as well as Puffin - Penguin Books for initiating such an experiential session with our students. Apart from our regular literature curriculum and the library reading programme, such exposure will help further enhance students’ interest towards reading and introduce them to the art of creating their own masterpieces.” This school emphasises a lot on literature and is known to focus on developing reading skills and the ability to interpret, analyse, evaluate the text and finally, appreciate literature.
