The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has executed a number of projects for visitors. From selfie points opposite Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to multilevel viewing gallery in Malabar Hill, some have become most sought-after places.

The CSMT selfie point was opened to enthusiasts in April 2017. It gives a spectacular background of both iconic civic headquarters and Central Railways building.

Earlier, visitors had to stand along roads, amid relentless traffic, to click pictures of the two iconic buildings. Now, thousands get a clear view from the viewing bay.

The civic body renovated Hanging Garden, or the Pherozeshah Mehta Udyan. It has also been linked to Kamla Nehru Park with a bridge. The garden has themed fountains and an amphitheatre. A multilevel viewing gallery adjoining the garden gives a panoramic view of the city. The gallery was opened two weeks ago. It has three levels: from the first two, visitors get a clear view of Marine Drive.

In the second week of October, the Matoshri Meenatai Thackeray Shilpgram in Jogeshwari East was opened. It is the city's first arts and craft village depicting the state's rural culture. The first Sunday after its opening, it got 25,000 visitors. Spread over 13.81 acres, it has been constructed on the lines of Dilli Haat and Shilpgrams at Udaipur, Hyderabad and Sawai Madhopur in Jaipur.

The city also brought Humboldt penguins to Byculla zoo. On weekends, thousands visit the zoo to get a glimpse of the birds brought from Seoul.
