The Kala Ghoda Open Art Gallery on K Dubash Road is facing a lukewarm response from both participants and visitors yet again. However, this time the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), that manages the open art gallery, has now roped in Kala Ghoda Association (KGA) for promoting the art gallery and getting a better response. In November 2017, the BMC joined hands with Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) for promoting the gallery.

The Kala Ghoda Open Art Gallery will now be jointly operated, managed and promoted by BMC, MTDC and KGA. "We were finding it difficult to promote the open art gallery thus we had joined hands with MTDC. After a few successful Sundays, we are again getting a lukewarm response. Thus we decided to join hands with KGA as they have the expertise and will bring in more participants," said Kiran Dighavkar, Assistant Municipal Commissioner of A ward.

Manek Davar, Chairperson, Kala Ghoda Festival Association said, "The open art gallery needs to attract not only youngsters but entire families as well. The exhibitions should provide variety every Sunday. The event's success is when visitors spend more time at the place. At the Kala Ghoda Open Art Gallery, there is a need to not only display items but also provide children with engaging activities, a variety of items for sale and food to keep people engaged." He added, "We are in final talks with BMC and MTDC and will soon start Sunday's event jointly."

The Kala Ghoda Open Art Gallery on K Dubash Road near Jehangir Art is the brainchild of Yuva Sena Chief Aaditya Thackeray, and was launched in October 2016. Due to lukewarm response from artists and visitors, the gallery was shut temporarily. After teaming up with the MTDC, it was reopened in November 2017 with exhibitions every Sunday.
