In the last six months, the state government violated its own rules by giving the Sahyadri state guest house, on several occasions, to those who should not have got them. These include the IAS Officers' Wives Association, BJP MLA Raj Purohit and a deputy secretary.
The information was provided under RTI to applicant Anil Galgali, who sought details of the people to whom the place was given, the purpose, and the charges levied.
As per information provided, the IAS Officers' Wives Association got the place four times in the last six months, BJP MLA Raj Purohit once, and on one occasion it was given to a government official who is not supposed to get it as per protocol.
As per a government resolution of July 2015, the Sahyadri state guest house is for the President, Prime Minister, Vice President, central cabinet and state ministers, governors of other states, chief ministers, chief justice of India and other justices of Supreme court, and senior most government officers of central government whose stay is arranged over here.
