Stars inaugurate Road Safety Week

The inauguration of the Thane traffic department's Road Safety Week turned out to be a star-studded event. At the event held on Monday, Bollywood actors Kangana Ranaut, Shreyas Talpade, Javed Jaffery appealed the youngsters to adhere to traffic rules and also discouraged drink driving. The initiative will last till January 22 and aims to increase road safety among Thanekars and actors Shivaji Satam, Gracy Singh, Vikram Gokhale and Mohit Chouhan will be a part of other events. Street plays, painting competition, debates and other events will be held during the week.

Traffic park
TMC chief Sanjeev Jaiswal said traffic park will be constructed at Kavesar to raise traffic awareness among kids. TMC has already acquired 8 acres of land at Kavesar. "The park will give a live demonstration of traffic rules and regulations for kids and this will help increase awareness among kids," he said
