A 17-year-old Nallasopara resident ended his life allegedly after his school denied him hall ticket for the exam. The family alleged that the teen had not appeared for the external exams and was insulted by the school management. The trustee of the school has denied the incident.

Pravin Kamlesh Jadhav, a resident of Ostwal Nagari in Nallasopara East, had filled his form for the SSC exams at Kanchan English High School and Junior College. On Wednesday, the teen went to collect the hall ticket when he was allegedly denied.

According to Tulinj police, after coming back home, Pravin sent his sister to the classes and when there was no one in the house, used a dupatta to hang himself from the ceiling fan. His sister found him dead and informed the neighbhours about the incident.

Kamlesh Jadhav, father of the deceased, said, "The school demanded more money after my son did not appear for external exams and so they insulted him and sent him back home, which pushed him into depression and he ended his life"

"The school is responsible for the death of my son and they should be punished for treating my son badly," said Jadhav.

Vinod Jadhav, trustee, Kanchan English High School and Junior college said, "We will be giving the hall tickets to the students on Februrary 4 and the student should have not panicked."

"Our school did not insult the student and the allegations are baseless," said Jadhav.

"We have registered a case of accidental death in this regard and are investigating if the school pushed him to end his life", said a senior Tulinj police officer.
