While some teachers appointed for paper checking of SSC board exam papers are not receiving answer papers for checking, some are receiving in bulk, alleged the teachers organisation
The Teachers Democratic Front (TDF) has alleged that the State Board is not sending answer papers of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams to them for paper checking, which may put them in tight spot if the pages are sent later when the teachers get busy with the checking of school-level exam papers and preparing their results.
While some teachers appointed for paper checking of SSC board exam papers are not receiving answer papers for checking, some are receiving in bulk, alleged the teachers organisation. According to the organisation, only appointed teachers by the state board can check the SSC board papers. The answer papers are sent to their schools by the custodian.
Rajesh Pandya, Vice President, TDF, said, "Many teachers have complained to us that they have not received answer papers from the board and some are complaining that the board should send us minimum answer papers rather then in bulk. Teachers are already burdened with school-level exams and checking school-level exam papers."
Another teacher from central suburbs, who did not wish to be named, said, "Lots of mistakes happen during paper checking such as some teachers getting wrong bundles of answer paper and they have to go to the board and return and collect the correct bundles. Some of them get half a bundle of papers. But those teachers who teach SSC students are bound to do paper corrections."
Dr Subhash Borse, the secretary in-charge of the state board's Mumbai division, refuting the allegations of the TDF said, "The answer papers of SSC are sent to schools by custodians as per their time table. They are sent regularly to teachers for checking."
