To bid farewell to the evergreen superstar, Sridevi, her superfan Atul Dabang, who suffers from dwarfism and has worked alongside the actress, arrived at Pawan Hans crematorium in Vile Parle with a photograph of the actress. The actress had helped Dabang when he was struggling to survive in Mumbai.

"When i had met madam (Sridevi) during my days of struggle, I did not have any money and used to struggle for food. I tried to get a job in the film industry and did small-time roles as a dwarf," said Dabang.

"I sought help from her and she willingly gave me money and whenever she attended any event, I made sure that I met her. I was able to meet her only at public events. It is due to her that today I have managed to survive in the city," said Dabang.

Dabang shares one of the fond memories he has with the actress, "One day, after the shooting of a film, I saw her coming out from Film City in Goregaon and I just called out her name and she immediately asked his bodyguards to escort me from the crowd and asked me about my event company which I managed to start after collecting money while working in the city."

"Had it not been for Sridevi madam, I would not have survived at all. She is an inspiration to me and has helped me achieve my tall dreams. It has been three days since I lost my sleep after I learnt about the death of my role model," said Dabang
