Spurned FB 'friend' assaults girl after sending her porn

A 19-year-old Virar girl alleged that a Facebook 'friend' of hers sent her pornographic videos, and stalked and assaulted her after she rejected his proposal.

According to Virar police, the accused, identified as Maithak Khatri, a resident of Ahmedabad, befriended the 19-year-old on the social networking site and sent porn videos to her cellphone, despite her warning him not to. He later proposed to her and when she rejected him, he allegedly stalked and assaulted her while she was on her way home, after which she revealed the incident to her parents.

"The parents, who were present during the lodging of the complaint, revealed that their daughter had often asked the youth not to contact her, but he assaulted her on the street by stalking her," said the Virar police official.

"We have registered the case under section 354D (stalking) and 323 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating the case further," said the official.
