Spicy affair: Paani puri vendor fails to deliver bhel, man slits his wrist

The 33-year-old man had ordered for spicy bhel when the paani puri vendor due to more customers failed to deliver it in time, which led to the assault.

A 33-year-old Ulhasnagar man was craving for his spicy bhel, when he ordered for it at a local paani puri vendor, but as the vendor failed to deliver it, the man in anger slashed his wrist with a glass piece after vandalising his shop.

Dhirajsingh Saini, the paani puri vendor faced ire of Hitesh Velani after he failed to deliver spicy mix bhel at his residence near Ulhasnagar camp 3. Saini in a fit of rage approached him and vandalised his shop, and the glass pieces were used to slash the wrist veins leading to severe blood loss, after which the vendor had to be rushed to Meera hospital for treatment.

"The vendor suffered severe injuries and he was given stitches. He was lucky that he reached to the hospital in time," said a Vithalwadi police officer.."We arrested the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and produced him before the court. The victim is out of danger, and we are investigating further," said LK Khade, investigation officer.
