After four youths from Yashwant Sena shouted slogans and threw pamphlets in the state assembly in support of reservation for the shepherd community (Dhangars), speaker Haribhau Bagade directed the state government to take a call on the pending reservations of Maratha, Muslim and Dhangar communities in Maharashtra.

At 1.56pm, the four youngsters had risen from their seats in the viewers' gallery and started shouting slogans in favour of Dhangar reservation. The two security guards, who could handle only two agitators, had then taken them away from the gallery. While the entire House had been stunned with the incident, the other two had kept up with their sloganeering, condemning the chief minister, and thrown a few pamphlets in the House.

Bagade had then immediately adjourned the House for 10 minutes, while chief whip of the BJP Raj Purohit had retaliated, using foul language against the two youngsters.

After the House resumed, leader of NCP in the state assembly Jayant Patil said it was a serious issue because the Dhangar community was feeling cheated by the government. Leader of the Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil said this incident was nothing but a question mark on the credibility of the government. NCP MLA Ajit Pawar recalled that it was in Baramati that Devendra Fadnavis had come as BJP state unit president before the elections and convinced the Dhangar leaders to withdraw their indefinite fast by offering them a glass of juice.

BJP MLA Yogesh Sagar said his government would keep its word of reservation as well as that of putting behind bars all those involved in corruption. Independent MLA Anil Gote said the reservation to Dhangar community had been rejected by the state government when Sharad Pawar was the chief minister.
