Son who killed father : 'I gave justice to my mother by killing dad'

The Manikpur police station have arrested an 18-year-old boy for allegedly killing his father with a sickle after he was furious over his father's assault on his mother on Saturday.

The teenager has been identified as Mayank Kumrawat, a resident of Om Nagar in Vasai (W). While speaking to this correspondent, Mayank showed no remorse. He said that he had taken Rs1,000 from his mother, Vinita, on the pretext of buying books. Mayank then went and bought a sickle and killed his father, Mukesh, for assaulting his mother. He believed that he gave 'justice' to his mother by killing his father.

"For the past one-week, Mayank was unable to concentrate on his studies as his parents regularly had fights and his father also used to beat her up," said an official from Manikpur Police Station.
"When we interrogated him, he showed no remorse. His mother has cut all the ties with him," added the official.

"I took money from my mother on the pretext of buying books, but instead I went and bought a sickle. I bought the sickle only to scare him. On Saturday, my parent fought and he had kicked my mother, who fell and became unconscious. That's when I took out my sickle to scare him but he then provoked me to attack him, which I did. And it is during that time that I decided to get rid of him, just to make my mother's life better, Mayank.

"I have no regrets of killing an evil father. I have given justice to my mother by killing him as she worked day and night to help me study. I couldn't tolerate to see her in pain, added Mayank.
A case against Mayank had been registered under section 302(murder) of the IPC.
