Nowrosjee Wadia College having arts and science stream started selling forms and prospectus for the admission in first year Bachelor of Arts and first year Bachelor of Science degree on Monday.

The principal of the college, Bhagwan Thakur, said, “We don’t have an online system of filling application forms. Hence, the students interested in pursing their undergraduate degree can purchase the application form from the college.’’

Thakur added that admission process normally continues for a week. “We give admission on the basis of merit. We keep some seats reserved for meritorious students who come late for the admission,’’ he said.

Marathwada Mitramandal’s College of Commerce (MMCC) principal MD Lawrence said, “The admission process for MMCC students will start from Tuesday and continue till June 10. We will complete our admission process and after that, we will open the vacant seats for non-MMCC students. The admission for non-MMCC students will be given on purely merit basis,’’ Lawrence said.

Fergusson College which is already running an online admission process for the past three years on its website www.fergusson.edu started the admission process from May 30.
Principal RG Pardeshi said, “Our first preference for admission in the first year is for the students who have passed the HSC examination from our college. After allotting the seats to Fergusson College students the remaining seats will be allotted to the other students on merit basis.’’

The students need not go to the college for seeking the admission forms and instead can log on to the college website where an admission link is uploaded.

“The students need to fill the online application with filling the form with correct details, and then, they have to submit the filled forms at the college with the photocopy of the mark sheet and necessary documents for physical verification by the college authorities,’’ he said.

After completing the admission applications verification process, the merit list will be uploaded on the website and also displayed at the college notice board.

Like Fergusson College, Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) too has an online admission process.
BMCC is going to start its online admission process from Wednesday. Students seeking admission in BMCC can log onto www.bmcc.ac.in.

The admission process for BMCC students will be conducted from June 13-15 and for non BMCC HSC passed students, it will be held from June 16 onwards. The first merit list will be prepared on June 17 or 18. According to a college staffer, the total student intake capacity at BMCC is 600.

SP College has 480 seats for first year Bachelor of Commerce and most of them are filled by our students only. For the admission in first year BA and BSc courses which have 360 seats each, the admission is based on merit only,’’ he said.
