Why did HC refuse to allow the student a writer?
Partha Vidhani was refused a writer by Bombay high court on 25 February. The court had rejected the student's plea, primarily taking into account the notification issued by the board that the services of a writer are only allowed to students who are deaf/mute, blind, physically disabled and spastic.
What did the student do then?
Vidhani then approached SC and got an interim relief on 27 February for a writer for his HSC exams till Monday. On Monday's hearing, since the Maharashtra state board wanted to file a counter affidavit, the matter was adjourned for two weeks.

Partha's father Jayesh Vidhani said, "We are grateful that the SC considered our case and helped our son by allowing him to take his exams with a writer. Hope that the final outcome also comes in such a way that will help many such students."
Advocate, Ameya Gokhale, appearing for a student, said, "The court has again given us interim relief by allowing Vidhani to write his last two papers on March 12 and 14 with a writer. This relief is subject to the final outcome. Since the board wanted to file a counter affidavit, the matter got adjourned for two weeks."
