With Shiv Sena ministers of state openly acrimonious that BJP ministers are not allowing them to do any work, chief minister Devendra Fadnavis directed the general administration department to route files through the ministers of state.

Sena MoS Sanjay Rathod recently wrote a letter to Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, complaining that Sena ministers are treated badly; he also expressed his wish to quit the BJP-led state government. He said if there is no work to do, there is no point keeping the ministerial chair.

Another Sena minister, Ravindra Waikar, also attacked BJP ministers for the stepmotherly treatment they mete out to Sena ministers, alleging that their 'say' was not counted in cabinet meetings.

According to the chief minister's directives, decisions and files of the departments handled by him, such as urban development, housing, general administration, social justice, home, tourism, public relation etc, should come through MoSes per the procedure. "It is the part of the decentralisation of power. It will bring transparency and avoid ambiguity in decision-making procedures. It will also save time," stated a general administration department circular.

Fadnavis had earlier admitted that there would be issues in the alliance government. "But we are here to resolve the issues amicably at the appropriate forum. Shiv Sena is our longtime friend and we are ready to take it along with us," the CM said.

A person close to the CM told dna that Fadnavis did not want to strain the relations between the allies over sharing power and allotment of responsibilities. "The CM did not want to break the alliance on minor issues. He, therefore, started with himself, directing the GAD to route the files through MoS. The CM led by example and we hope other ministers will follow the diktat. This will cement the cracks in the alliance, and we will work more efficiently," the person said on the condition of anonymity.

Moreover, Sena and BJP called for a coordination committee meeting to iron out differences in the coalition. And more such meets have been slated for future. As part of this move, chief minister Fadnavis appointed cooperative minister Chandrakant Patil to deal with Sena leaders.

Patil was the person who broke the ice with Sena following the state assembly election results, bringing the party onboard.
