For a party marred by several corruption allegations recently, the Shiv Sena, which continues to professes commitment to Mumbai's development, has grabbed six ranks in the list of top corporators of 2016. The Sena has also emerged to have carried out qualitative discussions and improved its attendance in the last year.

As per the Praja Foundation report, Sena corporators have not only grabbed six places in the top-10 list, but they also dominated the discussions during the 724 BMC meetings held this year. The top Sena corporators included Hemangi Chemburkar (81.27%), Prajakta Vishwasrao (81.17%), Trushna Vishwasrao (80.70%), Anuradha Pednekar (79.83%), Sanjay Pawar (78.82%) and Varsha Tembvalkar (77.65%).

Also, Sena corporators had an average attendance of 90%, with Pawar and Anant Nar having a 100% attendance. Nar also bagged the second rank for the number of questions asked in 2016 across various forums of the civic body. He demanded answers to 79 questions, raised on issues such as health, roads, education and others.

Not far behind, Prajakta Vishwarao was hailed for the quality of her questions. She scored 22.38 marks out of 28, with an overall ranking of three. Meanwhile, leader of the House and veteran Sena politician Trushna Vishwasrao grabbed the top rank for carrying out pointed discussions and debates in 2016. The corporator scored five out of five for her relentless dialogues and talks.

The only sad note in the entire script was the dismal performance of corporators Rahul Shewale, Manisha Patil and Shweta Rane.

Shewale, who was ranked 223, did not ask even a single question. Similarly, Patil and Rane also found no problems to give a voice to.
