The Kalyan Dombivli civic election has been scheduled for November 1 and even though the code of conduct is in effect, Shiv Sena has been distributing free medical kits to woo the potential voters. In KDMC elections, both, Shiv Sena as well as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), have decided to go solo hence, different strategies are being used to woo the voters.

The residents have unanimously said it is strange that Sena candidates are under the impression that they can influence voters with free gifts.

Deepak Dubey, the Aam Aadmi party convener (Dombivli), siad, "The members were seen distributing free medical kits in residential societies at Kalyan east and residents from the area have also confirmed that they have been given free gifts."

With elections less than a month away, other parties consider this as a breach of code of conduct and are mulling to approach the Election Commission.

Adesh Raj, a resident, said, "The politicos become active during elections and come up with bizarre ideas. I don't find any reason behind distributing medical kit to the residents."

Despite repeated attempts, the Sena representatives remained unavailable for comments.
