Shikshan Prasarak to meet with management council, board on Thursday

After the series of reports by Zee Media about the alleged irregularities in the functioning of Shikshan Prasarak Mandali, the latter has decided to hold a meeting of the management council and the administrative board on Thursday. The meeting will be held at the Mandali's head office in Sir Parshurambhau College campus, Pune.

The Mandali has 22 members on its managing council, which is also referred to as governing council, and 47 members on the administrative board. The managing council has 12 elected members, of which eight are nominated from the administrative board; they come from the 44 educational institutions of the Mandali.

The administrative board has principals and headmasters from various schools and colleges and directors of institutes of the Mandali. There are 44 institutions run by the Mandali, with teaching as well as non-teaching representation on the administrative board.

The Mandali, after the news reports by Zee Media, released an advertisement claiming all the teachers, students, parents and former students have shown their unstinting support to the governing council.

Thursday's meeting is likely to unfold the measures to be taken by the Mandali and apprise the managing council as well as administrative board about the news reports and clarify doubts.
