Sensitise cops on doctors' protection Act, says Bombay High Court

Taking cognisance of a dna report ‘Patient slaps Rajawadi Hospital doctor, arrested’ which appeared on January 15, the Bombay High Court on Friday directed the Director General of Police (DGP) to sensitise police officers across all police stations about the special law enacted in 2010 to protect doctors from being assaulted on duty.      

The court also directed the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) to provide all police stations a copy of the Act and issue a circular to them by January 31 for better implementation of the Act.
