A day after the BJP counter-attacked the Shiv Sena daring it to quit the government, the Sena lashed out at its senior ally, underlining that their support was crucial for the Devendra Fadnavis-led government.
Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP and Saamna executive editor Sanjay Raut said they would not tolerate any intemperate language against party president Uddhav Thackeray. Questioning if those criticizing the Shiv Sena and leaders wanted to bring down the government, Raut threatened that otherwise, the BJP would have to run its regime on support from the NCP, whose leaders are under a cloud.
Earlier, the BJP fortnightly 'Manogat' had criticised Uddhav and Raut. The Shiv Sena has been taking routine potshots at the BJP, largely through its mouthpiece Saamna. Shiv Sena MP from Aurangabad, Chandrakant Khaire and Mumbai corporator Kishori Pednekar also lashed out at the BJP.
