After indirect sarcasm, poster wars and ridiculing each other through newspapers and magazines, the war of words between Shiv Sena and Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has reached the streets. On Monday, in an inaugural function of the 110-bed renovated Bhagwati Hospital and Training Centre for nurses, party workers from the saffron alliance came face to face.

While Sena workers ensured that they fixed their party flags all along the road to the venue, they alleged that BJP workers tried to replace them with their party flags.

In fact, Sena corporators avoided Gopal Shetty, the BJP Member of Parliament and Manisha Chaudhari, the BJP MLA of the area and went ahead with the inauguration ceremony at the hands of the mayor. Both the MP and MLA were made to sit with the audience along with their party workers and not called when the mayor cut the ribbon to throw open the facility for public.

Later, workers of both parties started shouting slogans against ech other. However, senior leaders of both the parties claimed that the situation was under control and no altercation happened.
