Thane police department was unaware about heavy cash transactions in their Wagle Estate police station's jurisdiction. The firm's managers never informed the cops about the nature of their business.

The residents of Teen Haath Naka woke up to a shocking news in their locality about an armed robbery in Checkmate Cash Management Firm. Around seven masked persons armed with weapons managed to decamp with Rs5 crore in cash.

"The current and past employees will be grilled and would be questioned about their location when the incident took place. Their activities will also be monitored," said a crime branch officer.

He added: "The managers of the firm are at fault as they did not inform the local police about such huge transactions. The security arrangements were also inadequate. The CCTV cameras storage were not kept at right place due to which the dacoits manage to take it away."
