NCP state president Sunil Tatkare on Saturday said that the seat sharing formula for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections between the Congress-NCP should be decided on last election’s formula and due respect should be given to each other in alliance.

Addressing party workers at the Nirdhar Melawa (party meeting) in Satara, Tatkare said, “Maharashtra is more developed than the Gujarat state. Shivsena-BJP leaders are misleading and confusing people and behaving as if they have already won the election.”

Taking a dig at the Narendra Modi government, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said, “Many people in the Modi government don’t have administrative experience. Many important portfolios are with single person.”

Challenging Raju Shetty, Tatkare also questioned, "Will Raju Shetty stand against Modi government over injustice to farmers? Or he will knee down in front of the government?."

“Modi government hiked prices of gas, petrol railway tickets and are now misleading masses. Modi government has not yet formed sugar policy and tons of sugar is lying in warehouses,” Pawar added.

Advising party workers to use social media to promote development activities,Tatkare said, “Upcoming Vidhan Sabha election puts Maharashtra’s self esteem at stake. Therefore, party workers should be alert and determined for winning Vidhan Sabha election.”

Clarifying that there are no differences between him and R R Patil, Pawar added, “Discussion about seat sharing should be held on priority. Also mentioned that there is no difference of opinion among the 20 ministers and one should not believe in rumours."

“When Sharad Pawar was the Union Minister, any issue in Maharashtra could be resolved at Centre but now the situation has changed," said Pawar.

Speaking about the power crisis, Pawar Said, "Shiv Sena leaders are opposing nuclear energy plant, but they are unaware of the coal scarcity in the state. This year, even if we have coal, water shortage may hamper the power generation."
