Schools, colleges to reschedule their exams in Maharashtra

The Central Election Commission of India, on Friday, announced October 15, as the election date for Maharashtra. According to authorities, if the school, college and state board, have scheduled their examination on the dates given by EC, then they would have to rescheduled it.

The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) have their September/October board examination for HSC repeater students on October 15. The SSC exams will be over by October 11. The schools would now have to finish their semester exams before the polls begin.

Meanwhile, the Mumbai University will release their exam time-table soon.

GK Mhamane, chairperson, MSBSHSE, said, "Yes! There are two papers of HSC schedule on October 15. We are working on a schedule and will declare it soon."

Dinesh Bhonde, controller of examination of Mumbai University, said, "We were ready with the examination dates for the students of degree college. But since the date of elections were not declared, we withheld the dates. There were 12 examination that were to commence from October 14 and 16. We did not kept any paper on October 15. But since the election work will take place on Oct14 and 16, the exams would have to be rescheduled."
