Thai Privilege Spa at Inch by Inch, Versova, offers a specialised detoxifying and anti-tanning treatment this summer
With summer having engulfed us in its uncomfortable embrace, we’d jump at any chance to save our skin. One of the respites this season comes in the form of a detoxifying and anti-tanning spa session at Thai Privilege Spa at Inch by Inch, Versova. Thai Privilege Spa (TPS), which has a presence in five countries, has only one branch in India—at Inch by Inch, Versova. The sprawling spa has 12 treatment rooms, with a choice of Jacuzzi, built-in or standalone shower facility.
What makes it work
To make an antidote work, one needs to start working from within, which is why you are first given a tamarind-based warm tea to kick start the detoxification process. This is followed by a steam to open up pores. Exfoliation, a buzzword in skincare, forms the crux of this treatment. Once the pores are open, a scrub is applied skilfully to help exfoliate dead skin cells. “This treatment uses specially-picked Thai herbs to purge toxins and relax the body,” explains Kalsung Dorjee, the spa manager. Finally, the treatment is completed with the popular Siam Aroma Massage, combined with traditional stretching techniques to improve blood circulation and energy flow.
The verdict
The two-hour-long treatment certainly rejuvenated me, with the masseuse paying special attention to easing out the knots in my shoulder blades. As to the claims of anti-tanning, the cooling eucalyptus scrub did smoothen and brighten my skin, but only to an extent. To achieve a goddess-like glow, however, one would have to go in for highly specialised treatments. From the vast array of treatments, we’d recommend Scent of Siam (Rs. 4,500), Siam Heritage (Rs. 3,500) and Absolute Stress Relaxing (Rs. 3,500).
