Following actor Salman Khan's conviction, Bhaijaanz restaurant in Rizvi complex, Bandra, remained closed on Wednesday. The restaurant had promised a discount on all items if he was acquitted. The restaurant is themed around Khan and his movies, and was started by his fans in February this year.
Govind Narayan, one of the restaurant's co-owners, said, "We started this Salman-themed restaurant because we are his diehard fans." The walls of the eatery are covered with posters of every Salman Khan film there is. "When he found out about the restaurant, he called us to Mehboob studios for a chat. We were thrilled. He has ordered various dishes like biryani from us around five times in the past three months. We will reopen the restaurant on Thursday," he added. Upset at the verdict, he hopes that Salman would be acquitted by the High Court.
Ejaz Khokar, a student of Rizvi college who frequents the restaurant said, "I don't know whether he (Salman) was behind the wheel or not. I think they should have shown him mercy." Arnav Malhotra, a student of Jai Hind College often visits the restaurant for its mutton biryani. "It is a must-visit place for every Salman fan," he said.
