Finally, the drama in the Salman Khan hit-and-run case ended on Friday after the actor, who was surrounded by his battery of lawyers, appeared before the sessions court and filed a fresh bail bond, following the order passed by the Bombay high court.

The actor had approached the high court seeking order on the appeal for suspension of his sentence, which the court allowed.

The court was once again flooded with lawyers, media persons and fans, who all were waiting for the actor to arrive and file the bond. There was huge confusion as to what time the actor was expected in court to seek bail. After a wait of almost five hours, he finally arrived around 5.30pm before the sessions court presided over by judge DW Deshpande.

Advocate Srikant Shivade, while seeking bail from the sessions court, informed the court that they have sought orders on the appeal of the sessions court order and, accordingly, HC has granted him bail. Thus, they have approached the sessions court to seek bail and furnish its conditions.

The court, after going through the HC order, held that a cash bail of Rs30,000 is granted to the accused along with one surety. He has been granted two weeks to produce the surety. "You will have to fill the bail bond from the session's department after receiving the court's order copy," the court told the actor.

The actor was then taken to the session's department, where the basic formalities of filing bail bond were completed, immediately after which he made his way out of the court premises.

Khan's sister Alvira said she is relieved by the court's order and decision.
