A Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable saved the life of a 62-year-old man after the senior citizen accidentally slipped in the gap between the train and the platform at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) while boarding the wrong train on Sunday. The incident was captured by the CCTV cameras installed on the platform.
According to the RPF, Jagannath Unhale, a Vashi resident, was on his way to attend a marriage ceremony in Nagpur and had bought a ticket for the Nagpur-Duronto Express but wrongly tried to board the Vidarbha Express at 7 pm.
Amidst the confusion, Unhale slipped which is when head constable Sachin Sabne, posted at the station, displayed quick-thinking and helped to pull Unhale out before he could slip into the gap entirely.
"By the time I realised I had boarded the wrong train, it started moving and I slipped. Before being dragged into the gap, the head constable came to my rescue and saved my life," said a relieved Unhale.
