RPF apprehends man for harassing women at Airoli station

On Thursday at 4:30 pm, a lady passenger working at an IT company made a verbal complaint that she saw a person at Airoli station in subway who flashes at women and touches every lady by taking advantage of heavy crowd.

A 39-year-old was apprehended by the Railway Protection Force ( RPF) at Airoli station on Friday after a lady complained that the accused used to flash his private parts at women and touch them inappropriately at the station subway.

"On Thursday at 4:30 pm, a lady passenger working at an IT company made a verbal complaint that she saw a person at Airoli station in subway who flashes at women and touches every lady by taking advantage of heavy crowd. The lady said that she too was subject to the man's lewd behaviour. She also informed that in his connection she already made a telephonic complaint with GRP and RPF on their Help Line number 9833331111 and 182," said an RPF officer.  

Two constables Ninesh Dalvi and Radheshyam from RPF Post Turbhe were deployed on Friday morning in civil dress. 

"This trap was a success. Both the constables apprehended the said person while he was doing such incident act. Suspected person disclosed his name as Arun Dyanu Gaikwad, a resident of Airoli Goan, Navi Mumbai. He admitted his guilt and the complainant identified the said person," said the officer.

Gaikwad was handed over to the GRP Thane with a memo for legal action against him. A case at Cr No. 97/2017 u/s 354 IPC is registered against Gaikwad.
