MUMBAI: Ronnie Screwvala of UTV has been summoned by the 22nd Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Andheri to remain present on March 14, in connection with a case filed by Ashok Shekhar, producer of the megahit StarPlus afternoon soap Bhabhi.

Ronnie told DNA he could not comment on the matter since he was traveling and would return to Mumbai later tonight.

Shekhar, son of Bollywood actor Chandrashekhar, has accused Ronnie of forcibly and illegally seizing the entire shoot property worth Rs 30 lakh. He alleged that UTV, using its money and muscle power combined with its big name, threw him out, leaving him jobless since three years. Shekhar says he struggles to make both ends meet.

Shekhar filed a criminal complaint through advocate Shailendra S Gandhi under the Indian Penal Code Sections 341, 403, 406, 506(ii).

The matter came up for hearing in April 2005 and December 2005, but was adjourned since the magistrate was absent.

Simultaneously, Shekhar lodged a claim of Rs 3 crore against UTV for the serial Bhabhi which is pending before an arbitrator.
