The Delhi Police failed to get any major breakthrough in connection with the alleged gang war between Jitender Gogi and Sunil Tillu's gang in which Gogi's aide Monu Maan alias Nepali was shot dead near Rohini Court on Friday.

Sources claimed that the plan to eliminate Monu (26) was hatched in the prison where Tillu was lodged.

According to investigating officers, one of the assailants Amit Dabang Tajpuria was lodged in the jail along with Tillu.

Tillu was aware that Tajpuria was harbouring anger towards Maan as he had shot at his cousin Vikas in 2014. Vikas, who was earlier associated with Jitender Gogi's gang, had left it as his brother had hurled abuses at Gogi's cousin Sanjay. Tajpuria was released only about three months ago.

Teams working on the case are trying to ascertain Tajpuria's whereabouts.

On Friday, two bike-borne assailants gunned down a Monu. The assailants pumped at least 10 bullets into the head and upper body of Monu killing him on the spot.

This is the third such incident in a year's time in the vicinity of the Rohini Court complex.
