Mumbaikars will no longer have the option to drink toddy as the state government has imposed restrictions on its movement from the deep suburbs to Mumbai, after passing a resolution that was upheld by the Bombay High Court on Monday.
A division bench of Justices VM Kanade and AS Gadkari held the government resolution, issued on October 28, 2016, to be in the interest of the public at large and thus rejected a bunch of petitions, accepting the arguments of Government Pleader Abinandan Vagyani.
The rejected petitions included one filed by a toddy seller from Palghar, Sandesh Narvekar.
