Rlys suffers losses over Rs 20L on bandh

The mobs ran riot on January 3, damaged and destroyed public property, vandalised properties on rail premises which led to losses of over Rs 20 lakh. The Central and Western Railways together saw a huge drop in daily ticket sales, the nonoperation of goods and long-distance trains, resulted in losses to the tune of another Rs 23.70 crore. The Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) faced losses to the tune of around Rs 2 crore while MSRTC suffered losses of Rs 20 crore.
