According to the police, the victim, Aniket Sainath Chauhan, was working at the WR workshop in Lower Parel as a mechanic and died after a fire broke out there

The NM Joshi Marg police, on Tuesday, have booked Western Railway (WR) security officers and a contractor of WR, for causing the death of a 23-year-old diesel mechanic due to negligence.
According to the police, the victim, Aniket Sainath Chauhan, was working at the WR workshop in Lower Parel as a mechanic and died after a fire broke out there. He suffered severe burn injuries on January 23 due to the freak accident. He succumbed to his injuries after three days.
The police had then registered an Accidental Death Report in the matter. However, Chauhan's family members have alleged that he died due to the negligence of the railway staff and the contractor, stating that there were no provisions of precautionary or safety measures in case of accidents.
