Ranragini, a right wing women's group, has stated that they supported religious traditions and were against the women groups seeking entry in Shani Shingnapur and other temples. The group members were addressing a press conference at Marathi Patrakar Sangh on Saturday.

Ranragini member Pratiksha Korgaonkar said, "From Gudi Padwa onwards, we have decided to launch a movement to protect religious traditions in the state. Trupti Desai (Bhumata Brigade head) has declared that she would enter with women in Mahalakshmi and Tryambakeshwar temples as well. We will strongly oppose any such attempts."

She added, "They have overlooked that the Constitution has also given the right to freedom of religion, along with the right to equality. The way the Congress government in Kerala has taken a stand to protect religious traditions of Hindus in Sabarimala Temple case, we demand that a similar stand be taken by the BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra."

Korgaonkar further claimed that there were thousands of women who were ready to not climb the platform to preserve their religious traditions.
