Despite the Devendra Fadnavis led state government taking its first Cabinet decision for providing the right to services along the lines of Madhya Pradesh, people of Maharashtra will have to wait till the Monsoon session of the state assembly for enactment of the decision.

The BJP had included the right to services (RTS) in its manifesto during the assembly elections. The party's national vice-president Vinay Sahasrabuddhe made it a point to include this RTS, borrowed from the Madhya Pradesh government's most successful act.

The Madhya Pradesh government's RTS Act has won the United Nation's 'best act' award. It provides more than 50 services to citizens within a stipulated time, with the provision of penalty to government officials for not providing services within the time frame.

Interestingly, when Fadnavis, along with nine other colleagues took oath at Wankhede stadium on October 31, 2014, the first Cabinet meeting on the same evening took the decision of providing the RTS to people of the state.

While speaking to media persons after the Budget session, chief minister Fadnavis said that there are suggestions about the proposed RTS bill and the government is considering notifying the decision, which can provide more than 150 services.

He said that the government would come out with a resolution on the same, and present the bill in the Monsoon session.
