The Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Association (FRTWA) has called off the retailers strike with immediate effect and retail shops will be open tomorrow.

"We have called off the retailers strike because of the various requests from retailers and consumers from several areas due to festival period and Akshaya Tritiya," said Viren Shah, president of FRTWA.

Shah added that the shops will be open across the city expect few areas such as Malad, Borivali, Dahisar and Mulund areas as the local organisations are yet to decide and deliberations are on.

"We have closed our shops for six days in city and showed unity and strong protest. Now, we will continue our protests by 'non compliance' by not registering under LBT and paying only 5% VAT of total VAT amount for next six months,"said Shah.
