Students at the University of Mumbai can finally heave a sigh of relief as the University has started declaring results of some of the major courses. While results of final year BA, Bsc(IT) and BMS were declared on Sunday evening, law results are expected to be out by the end of this week.

Arjun Ghatule, acting Director, Board of Examinations and Evaluation said that the university is working to declare some of the major results soon. "We have declared the results of BA, Bsc(IT) and BMS today, while the results for Law will be out in the next 3-4 days. We are also trying to complete the assessment work for Commerce, and some results in the stream are likely to be announced by the end of the week," added Ghatule.

With over 1 lakh answer sheets yet to be evaluated, Ghatule said that the university staff will not take Ganesh vacation and work on the results.

After missing several deadlines, the university now hopes to get help from some of the centres established at various universities including Shivaji University, Nagpur University and Aurangabad university to speed up the assessment work.

"If teachers work in full swing in those centres, evaluation can be completed soon," said a university official. As on Sunday evening, 106 results were yet to be declared.
