There was strong resentment among Shiv Sena legislators in Maharashtra about the style of functioning of BJP-led state government, a PTI source said on Tuesday.

Sena leaders Ekanth Shinde, Subhash Desai (both ministers in the state government) and Anil Desai (Rajya Sabha MP) will meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis soon to convey the sentiments of party leaders, the source added.

"There was a meeting of Sena legislators today where (BJP minister) Girish Bapat was also present. The MLAs seemed to have turned completely against BJP. They complain that Sena is not kept in the loop on crucial decisions and there is complete lack of co-ordination between the two parties," a Shiv Sena legislator, who was present at the meeting, told PTI on the condition of anonymity.

The Sena leader further said that BJP had "gone back" on its election promises, which was impacting Shiv Sena's image too, it being a part of the coalition government.

"MLAs say that many election promises are far from fulfilled. Announcements in the name of development are showing little results on the ground. This has created a lot of resentment among people. The legislators fear that this will have a negative impact on the Sena as well," he said.

"The BJP had promised that cases against political workers over agitations will be withdrawn....No case has been withdrawn yet," the Sena leader added.

Compulsory e-tendering for projects over Rs 3 lakh had put a halt to many development projects, he said.

"We are not against e-tendering of projects. It is a good step for projects worth more that Rs 10 lakh. But when the amount is brought down to Rs 3 lakh, many development projects get stalled. This was another complaint the MLAs had," the Sena leader said.
