Refused permission to play computer games, 14-year-old Mumbai boy kills self

A 14-year-old student, son of a police constable, committed suicide on Thursday afternoon at Naigaon when he was asked by his mother to study and not kill time playing computer games.

Nikhil Raju Gaikwad, the deceased, was playing games on his desktop computer and was asked to start studying due to his semester exams. He was in the ninth standard of RM Bhatt High School in Parel. His father is a constable attached to the  Local Arms Division in Naigaon and the family resides in Naigaon Police quarters.

"The moment he was reprimanded, the child collected his study books and went inside the room, by around 2 30pm the family discovered that he had hung himself using a rope," informed a police officer with Bhoiwada police station.
