All the speakers unanimously agreed to behaviourial change in people with respect to housing. People are moving to outskirts and suburbs such as Badlapur and Virar, instead of settling in the city, affordability being the main reason for the shift.
Presented by dna, the Real Estate and Infrastructure Round Table and Awards ceremony was held on Thursday at Taj Lands End in Bandra. Over 200 professions from real estate, property, infrastructure and architecture sectors attended the event .
The awards that recognised achievements by companies and individuals were presented in different categories, to encourage and promote excellence in the real estate profession. Reema Kundnani, vice-president and head of marketing and corporate Communication of the Oberoi group, one of the award winners, said, "We are happy and humbled to have recieved the award. We thank our customers for having faith in us. The award has put responsibility on us to continue to deliver great quality work and we will keep doing it."
A panel discussion was also held to discuss sustainable and affordable housing. Experts in the field presented their opinions on sustainability in the housing sector and future of affordable homes. "Sustainability is a three-legged stool that comprises economic, environmental and social perspectives. It is all about inclusive and equitable development," commented one of the speakers.
