Ramdas Kadam urges all to plant 10 trees each

Asking Mumbaikars to take a lead in helping protect environment, Ramdas Kadam, State Environment Minister asked people to take a pledge on the World Environment Day to not only plant 10 trees each, but also to preserve them.

“The pollution levels in the cities are rising and to tackle it, trees need to be planted wherever possible. and also make sure that they are well cared for,” said Kadam during the environment day function organised by the Environment Department and Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). During the function, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that it was important for everyone to protect water, forest as well as land. “Rapid urbanisation is having its impact on the environment, climate change is affecting the rain, which is affecting farmers. Everyone will have to take steps for protecting the environment,” he said.
