Bollywood item girl Rakhi Sawant will contest in the Lok Sabha elections from the Mumbai North-West constituency. She will inform the media about her plan on Wednesday.

“Rakhi has decided to fight from Mumbai North-West constituency against Congress leader Gurudas Kamat, Gajanan Kirtikar from Shiv Sena, Mayank Gandhi from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Mahesh Manjrekar from MNS,” said a source.

“Rakhi visited the BJP head office in Delhi and returned to Mumbai on Tuesday night,” source said adding, “There are chances that she would get a BJP ticket or contest independently in the Lok Sabha election”.

Rakhi told to dna, “BJP had offered me a ticket from Sriramapur in West Bengal. But I did not accept it as I am a Mumbaikar and can speak Marathi and Hindi. I do not know local language of that area so why should I contest from there?"

“I am keen to contest from Mumbai North-West. If BJP does not offer me a ticket, I will go ahead as an independent candidate. I am leaving my film industry for people and will give tough competition to other contestants,” said Rakhi
