A 17-year-old Commerce student from Ulhasnagar allegedly jumped off from the skywalk outside Ulhasnagar station after he was ragged by his friends and was called names due to his walking style. The teen has been admitted at Central hospital and has suffered fractures.

Bhushan Mudkar is a resident of Camp 2 of Ulhasnagar and a first year student of SST college of Commerce and Arts. He was upset after his friends teased and ragged him within and outside the college. He went to the skywalk and jumped off while the principal of the college has denied that he was upset. A counselling session will be conducted soon in the campus.

The police from Government Railway Police and Ulhasnagar police rushed him to the Central Hospital.

"The teen revealed that he was upset after his friends teased and ragged at school. His exams are starting from today, but he wanted to end his life," said a police official, adding that they will take his statement when he gains consciousness and further action will be taken.

"The medico-legal report has been sent to the police station after they learnt that he attempted to end his life," said Dr Ashok Nandapurkar, civil surgeon, Central hospital.

JC Puraswani, principal, visited the student at the hospital and met his parents, but denied allegations of ragging in the college campus. "We met the student and spoke to him he is out of danger but he revealed to us that he fell down and in our college campus ragging doesn't takes place we when he recuperates completely we will speak to him regarding the incident."

"We will also conduct a counselling session for the teen and if his parents are unable to pay fees of medication, then we will spend on their behalf. I have received an application from parents that he won't be able to write his exams," said Puraswani.
